Prolux PXC-512F8GL 8MP ColourView HD-TVI Camera Colour at night
CMOS sensor & HD-TVI default output (AHD, CVI, & CVBs)

This Eyeball Dome camera comes with the latest CMOS sensor, designed to provide the sharpest and most colour accurate images on the 8MP market. Combined with the HD-TVI output mode, the image clarity is second to none.

Powered by ColourView

Prolux’ PXC-512F8GL 8MP comes with two warm supplemental LED lights. The F1.0 large aperture lens and 1/2.9″ high-performance sensor combined with the LED lights allow the camera to provide a colourful and vivid image even in total darkness. By default, the camera is set to smart light mode, in which the camera can automatically adjust the exposure time and light sensitivity simultaneously to avoid overexposure of the objects in the image centre.

The camera presents an impressive low light performance, by absorbing a higher amount of light combined with advanced image processing algorithm. This makes an exceptional balance between noise reduction and the blur of a moving object.

IP67 Waterproof

This has an IP67 rating, you don’t need to worry about dust or water damage to the Prolux PXC-512F8WL 8MP camera. Combined with a full aluminium body, these cameras are designed to last many years. The unit can be dropped into a body of water up to a meter deep for half an hour with no damage.

CCTV Lens Guide

What lens type is best for you

Unless selecting a vari-focal camera (with an adjustable lens) It is important to select the correct camera lens option for where the camera is to be positioned. A smaller lens will give you a wider angle but will be “zoomed out more”, while a bigger lens will narrow the angle down and “zoom in more”. See below to give you some idea on angles of Megapixel HD Cameras:

Lens in mm Approx Viewing Angle (degrees) Ideal Distance (metres) Typical usage/notes
2.8 106 <6 For seeing as much of the immediate area as possible such as above a doorway/low down/garage soffits (edges can appear slightly warped/distorted) – clearly “zoomed out”
3.6/4 83-90 <12 A great general-purpose option giving great coverage still in the corner of a room or higher up on second-floor soffits with less distortion – more of a natural “zoom”
6 56 6-20 Narrows down the angle and zooms in to look past the immediate area a little to gain more detail – down a driveway for example from higher up
12 24 20+ Zooms in significantly more to look at a gate, entrance or adjacent building
16 19 24+ As above but more so
